Ground Mahleb
Description
Ground mahleb (also known as mahlab, mahlepi, or mahlep) is an aromatic baking spice made from the seed kernels of the St. Lucie cherry (Prunus mahaleb). Once extracted from the hard cherry pits, the seeds are ground into a fine powder that tastes like a fragrant blend of bitter almond, marzipan, and cherry.
